I had a chance to spend some time with the Lakewood crew at the 2012 SEMA show in November. This year, Lakewood is launching a complete bolt-on suspension system for late model Ford Mustangs. The kits are true bolt-ons, and driven back to back, you can really feel a difference. Lakewood gave a few of us media-types some joy-ride laps around the drift course a SEMA, first in a stock Mustang GT and then in a Lakewood-modified GT Mustang. Right off the bat, the Lakewood suspension was firmer than the stocker, with less body roll. Diving into the the corners, the stock suspension lods up the front tires while unloading the rears, which leads to oversteer. The Lakewood Evolution components kept the tire planted, allowing the driver to control the car rather than mearely making suggestions as to where the car should go. Maybe we should do a tech install? What do you guys think?
