Day 1 of SEMA Recap

Today was the first day of 4 long-ass days. With a crowd around it all day, the Roadrunner has bottlenecked traffic on the sidewalk. We will soon have a full feature on the Roadrunner, but that will come later. The day began with the New Products Awards, with Dave McClelland as MC. The voice of the NHRA introduced Jessi Combs for a keynote speech, as well as Chairman of the Board Nate Shelton, and SEMA CEO Chris Kersting. Jessi talked about how she grew up being a girl that was into building cars. While she is a role model for young girls interested in the auto industry, the guys are just as enamored with her. In fact, my own employee bought one of her pink welding helmets for that very reason. Of course he also wears skinny jeans, but that is an entirely different topic….

As the day went on, the crowds rushed into the convention hall, filling every possible nook and cranny. We took note of a few special cars and we will have some features coming your way tomorrow. Until then, check out these cars we shot today.
