Shelby GT350 + Gary Patterson + GoPro Hero HD= Too much fun!

At Shelby American, he is called the CFO, which in this case means the Chief Fun Officer. While to the uninitiated that may seem kind of silly, to anybody that has ever driven with him, you would know what it really means.  If you like hardcore racing, you love it. If you get scared, you’ll […]

“Mustang. Because nobody reminisces about their first Camry”

That was one of the “rejected” tag lines Steve Ling, North American Car Marketing Manager for Ford, told us about at the 37th annual Mid-America Team Shelby Nationals this weekend. I have been attending this event for the last 7 years, and even though I started out as very much a non-Ford guy, 7 years […]

Feelin’ all warm and Toasty

OK, OK, I get it, enough of the Buttered Toast references. I finally got the wagon running and driving. It is officially back from a long slumber. I shot a little video using my GoPro Hero HD video camera of the drive to the exhaust shop. Enjoy.  I will have better video of the completed car soon.

Buttered Toast Lives!!!!!!

Ok, so if you have been reading this site for any amount of time, then you would already know that: 1. I love Buicks. 2. I am building a twin-turbo Buick Wagon called “Buttered Toast”. Well, after seriously over-complicating what in reality was a simple turbo install, I have finally managed to complete the installation […]

4-wheels, 1200 pounds of man, and an open track. It’s called the Man Van.

The general premise of the project was to see how far the engineers could take a minivan. The car was lowered, a stiffer suspension bolted on, along with some extra chassis bracing. The 3.6 liter V6 got some extra tuning, and the interior features all the bells […]

The 2012 Models are Here!!!

With the 2012 model year upon us, it was time for the annual TAWA (Texas Auto Writers Association) Spring Roundup, where media-types get to drive a bunch of new cars on the Texas Motor Speedway infield road course. Why in a road course? Because it’s fun. Don’t ask silly questions, sheesh. ANYWAY….. So, this year […]

Win the thrill of a lifetime

Red Dirt Rodz is all about cars and the people who own them. What makes this hobby so interesting is that it takes all kinds of people to make it work. To show you what I mean, I am going to tell you a little about me and my wife, Ammie. I am a life-long […]

2010 Camaro; Relive Your Past

OK, so most people would agree that the latest Camaro body style is good looking, some would say it the best looking camaro ever. They are popular, I see them all over the place, old and young drivers alike. Today I saw a shiny red SS with a white hockey stripe. Inside, the guy driving […]

2010 SEMA, The Recap

Ok, so I didn’t manage to get day 3 and 4 reviews up. If you have ever been to a show this size, with evening events and all that jazz in a city like Vegas (is there any other city quite like Vegas?), then you might understand, things get crazy. I got home about 1:30 […]
